our team Caroline Davidson Principal / Director Caroline has owned and directed successful boutique public relations business Davidson Communications since 1990, specialising in the entertainment and tourism industries. In addition, Caroline’s versatile skills and media relationships have been employed to benefit clients as diverse as government youth programmes and launches, major sporting events and festivals, innovative product launches and celebrity profiling. Caroline studied Psychology for her BA degree from Sydney University. With a prior background in hospitality and tourism marketing, and specialised training in the US for the Greater Union group of companies, for whom she worked from 1985 until 1988, Caroline soon attracted loyal clients with her excellent brand management and strategic marketing skills, first-class media contacts and attention to clients' needs. In 2006, Caroline has accumulated a wealth of knowledge experience and an enviable track record in tourism public relations, with long-term clients demonstrating her ongoing commitment to excellence.Michelle Burke Michelle has been an Account Manager and senior publicist for tourism and entertainment clients at Davidson Communications for over 7 years. In that period she has managed accounts including W Sydney, Sheraton Noosa Resort & Spa, Nick’s restaurants, Diesel and others and currently works extensively with Rendezvous Hotels & Resorts International and Select Hotels & Resorts International. Michelle has first class travel and general media relationships and is expert in media placement across all clients. Michelle also oversees launches and other events project-by-project at Davidson Communications. Michelle is a great asset to the company who brings experience, attention to detail and longstanding relationships to the unique role she plays. She has excelled during her time at Davidson Communications, is extremely well thought of by our clients and will continue to help the company to grow and prosper in the future Kate Gilfillan Kate, a graduate of a Media and Communications degree at Macquarie University is the youngest member of the Davidson Communications team. Kate has been working at Davidson Communications as a publicist since early 2006 and comes from a promotions, marketing and event and hotel management background. Kate has excellent writing skills and is an organisational whiz. She contributes to media placement across all our clients, prepares media releases and reports and liaises with a number of contacts across the media, hospitality and tourism industry. Kate has also worked as the production assistant on a number of high profile events produced by Ian Smith Management , our event partner in 2006. These events to date include the Countdown Spectacular, Pantene Young Woman of the Year awards, Australian Commercial Radio Awards and Coca-Cola Live’N’Local. Kate plays an essential part in supporting all aspects of our PR and events initiatives and is a valued member of the team. Mark Sheehan Mark works alongside the Davidson Communications team across all our clients and campaigns. Mark has over 25 years of hands-on promotions and public relations experience in the tourism & travel industry, sits on numerous tourism and non-profit boards and has extensive grounding in strategic planning, critical path campaigns and campaign launches. Mark brings these skills and his 'pick up the phone' relationships and contacts in the media, the advertising community and travel industry to the table as a key member of the DC team. Ruth Williams Ruth joined Davidson Communications in 2009 and is the newest member of the team. She has a background in business and PR administration. Ruth runs the Davidson Communications office, supports all our public relations initiatives and is a valued member of the team. Ian Smith, ISMConsultant, Event Management / Producer Ian Smith’s company ISM provides exclusive event management services to corporate, entertainment industry and sports clients and is the events management partner of Davidson Communications. Prior to setting up Ian Smith Management, Ian directed MGM Artists’ management looking after Australian Crawl, Jimmy Barnes and Diesel among others and was an event producer for the Frontier Touring company, opening the Crown Casino in Melbourne and producing the Mushroom 25th Anniversary concert at the MCG. Ian now has an impressive record of producing a long list of major entertainment, sporting and corporate events over the past 10 years, including most recently: one of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Live sites, ARIA Awards, Tamworth Country Music Awards, closing ceremony for Paralympics, Gatecrasher 2001, Rumba and M1 Concert Series for Austereo network ('01 & '02), the Coca-Cola Live & Local national concert series (’04, ’05, ‘06), national X-Factor auditions (Grundy’s), MTV Awards (’05,’06), Wave Aid ’05, The Australian Commercial Radio Awards (‘06, ’07), The Countdown Spectacular (’06 and ’07) and Live Earth ‘07, NAB 150th anniversary Road Train and Festival Ian’s specialised talent and track record of creating and producing successful events from small to large-scale, ensures the highest credibility with and standards for his clients. |
